When kids are anxious about school, they might:

  • procrastinate

  • refuse to read, write, or do math

  • spend all night doing homework

  • spend all night on their phone

  • yell, snap, cry

  • oversleep

  • over exercise

  • withdraw

  • become a class clown or even a class bully

Typical responses to these behaviors are:

  • taking away privileges

  • implementing stricter schedules

  • hiring a tutor

While these may temporarily alleviate some of these symptoms, they don't lead to meaningful or lasting change.

Educational Therapy Can Make the Difference

Using an empathetic neuroscience-based approach, we teach students to set themselves up for success and more calmly handle challenges that come their way.

With reliable support over time, students maintain robust systems and routines to improve their academic performance and feel better doing it.

When your child persistently practices the mindsets and executive function skills need, they can:

  • get their schoolwork done on time

  • communicate effectively with their teachers

  • go to sleep and wake up regularly

  • eat dinner with the family

  • have the bandwidth to do their chores

  • talk openly with their parents again

Every student is unique, and has needs that change over time.

Membership levels ensure that your child is getting the right level of support at the right time.

Gaby

Laura and School Without Suffering really changed the academic game for my son. In addition she was able to keep me in the loop every step of the way. She really knows how to be present and support what the students wanted to accomplish- so they are invested in the outcome. I could not recommend Laura more highly.

Ericka

Amazing teacher that gave a complete insight to my homeschooler on how to approach math in a more positive way and greatly boosted my son's confidence in his approach to math.

Raichel

Laura is a gifted teacher. She is able to teach strategies that helps kids improve and grow in confidence. She effortlessly connects with students and draws them out. The sessions are extremely interactive and fun. Laura's organizational and time management skills are top of the chart. She was a blessing to my kid in helping her overcome her fear for math, given that my kid would not trust anyone with Math. Take Laura's classes, you will not be disappointed.

Jennifer

Great for my 2E learner. He says he has better ways of controlling his emotions when he gets upset. Reminding him of what he does well and that he has tools to help himself when he gets stuck and manage his schedule better. Laura is a great teacher. Very kind but firm and understanding with the kids. Highly recommend.

Sarah

Laura worked exceptionally well with my boys who have learning disabilities. She is very knowledgeable with strategies which allowed them to make progress. Laura is very kind, attentive, and encouraging leading to a successful learning environment. I would highly recommend!

Vanessa

My son has been doing so much better in math. The teacher is amazing. My son has been using some really great tools learned in this class. I recommend it if your child has anxiety especially during math.

Kristin

My daughter enjoyed the fact the teacher was very welcoming and non-judgemental. She felt that understanding how the brain worked in her fear of math was extremely helpful. Anyone who has any fear of math would benefit greatly.

Jennifer

Laura is so calm and encouraging with the kiddos. My son with both ADHD and Autism an struggle to stay organized. He is learning to use his online schedule and organizational skills to keep him ready for what is coming up next and to plan out time management throughout the week. This class will be a huge help.

Jay

Our daughter really enjoyed it and made great progress with her math anxiety!
